Invisalign treatment-before and after

Invisalign Before & After

June 18, 2019

Looking at images of before and after Invisalign® treatment is the easiest way to see the difference that this teeth straightening method might make for you.

If you tend to avoid having your photo taken, or if you smile with your mouth closed to hide your teeth, you’ve likely thought about teeth straightening and how you would feel with the freedom to fully smile. However teeth straightening isn’t only about your appearance. If left untreated, crooked teeth can cause oral health problems in the long run (learn more about this below).

Before Invisalign Aligners

We recommend Invisalign treatment to our patients not only for its ability to correct many different types of crooked teeth, but also for its ability to provide a more flexible style of treatment. Unlike braces, it seamlessly fits into different lifestyles.

Invisalign clear aligners treat a wide range of misaligned teeth types including:

  • Crowding
  • Open bite
  •
Gapped teeth
  •
Crossbite
  •
Underbite
  •
Overbite
  •
Excessive overjet (overbite)

After Invisalign Aligners

Below are a few before and after Invisalign treatment transformations. Do any of the ‘before’ images below look familiar?

Health Benefits of Teeth Straightening

If crooked or misaligned teeth (called “malocclusion” by dental professionals) are left untreated, the condition may lead to periodontal disease and bigger health issues.

For example, some types of bites create abnormal amounts of stress on the teeth, leading to premature wear and tear such as chipping, gum recession, and notches at the gumline. Over time improperly aligned teeth may also become worn down or fractured.

Unfortunately teeth erosion and structural issues (involving the tissue and bone) are harder and more costly to repair with age.

Treatment Consultation

During an Invisalign treatment consultation the Sullivan Heights Dental team will show you what type of misalignment(s) you have in reviewing photos of your teeth together. We’ll also show you how proper alignment will improve your bite, and discuss what situations proper alignment now might avoid in the future.

The consult is very quick and includes photos of your teeth.

Invisalign Treatment Cost

Many patients ask about Invisalign treatment cost before having a consultation. The cost varies on a case by case basis. Simpler cases cost less than complex ones, usually because of a shorter treatment period that requires fewer sets of clear aligners. (Note: If a case is very complex, our office will refer to an orthodontist.)

Another factor involving Invisalign treatment cost is insurance coverage. This will vary depending on your insurance provider and your plan options. We recommend coming in for a consult and obtaining a quote before dismissing Invisalign aligners as too expensive.

Book a consult to see if Invisalign treatment will help you achieve a beautiful smile that you’re happy to show.
