Opalescence Boost teeth whitening before and after

An Easy, More Vibrant Smile: Opalescence Boost

April 17, 2017

Opalescence Boost teeth whitening gives you a stunning, white smile more quickly than most other whitening options. In one visit to your dentist, your teeth will look whiter after only one hour – and will continue to whiten over the next 12-24 hours.

What is Opalescence Boost?

Opalescence Boost is a whitening gel that provides brighter, whiter teeth after just one hour (or less) in the dental chair. Consisting of 40% hydrogen peroxide, this powerful gel is chemically activated, so it doesn’t require a hot light or laser to work.

The gel is precisely applied by your trained dental professional to each tooth, and can also be selectively applied to teeth that vary in colour more than others.

This teeth whitening product contains potassium nitrate and fluoride which will help with reducing cavities, reducing sensitivity, increase enamel hardness and improve overall oral health.

In-Office and At-Home Teeth Whitening: What’s the Difference?

If you are in a hurry to see results, in-office teeth whitening is the quickest method. Prescription-grade formulas tend to be more powerful, requiring them to be administered safely by dental professionals. Opalescence Boost, for example, can take you up to three shades whiter than your existing tooth colour.

At-home teeth whitening involve gentler formulas, and therefore take longer to see results after multiple applications. Our office also offers professional take-home kits in a variety of concentrations and flavours. Each teeth whitening session only takes 30 minutes, or the trays may be worn overnight.

What to Expect

During Opalescence Boost teeth whitening you can watch TV, listen to music or even fall asleep.

  1. Your dentist will use a tooth shade selector to find the current shade of your teeth.
  2. Your mouth is prepared.
  3. The Opalescence gel is activated and applied to each tooth with a gentle brush tip.
  4. After a short period of time (around 15 min.) the gel is removed and the tooth shade is checked. Then the gel is applied again to repeat the process until the desired shade is achieved.

After the whitening treatment is finished, your teeth will continue to whiten for 12-24 hours.

One visit is usually all that’s required to achieve a brighter smile, but strong discoloration and stains may require additional treatments. We will let you know how many treatments will be needed upon our initial consultation.
