COVID-19 Response

We Are Open

We sincerely appreciate all of our patients who had their appointments canceled during the pandemic closure—thank you for your patience and understanding.

What to Expect (Updated for 2022)

While many things have changed in our dental office and in the world around us, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

High-level infection control has always been a top priority for our dental practice, and you’ve likely already noticed this during previous visits. Our infection control processes are designed to be both safe and comfortable while receiving dental care.

Our office has always utilized personal protective equipment (PPE) that has exceeded all the CDC guidelines. However, with COVID-19 we have implemented additional protocols and guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.

Before Your Appointment

Appointment times will be staggered to allow for social distancing between patients. You may be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Our office will ask screening questions prior to your appointment, and answer any questions you may have about the measures we’re taking to keep everyone safe. We will send a link via text or email for you to fill out our COVID pre-screening form.

Upon Arrival at the Dental Clinic

When you are in the parking lot, please notify our office of your arrival by phone.

If our reception area is full, you will be asked to wait outside or in your car. Then we will call you when we are ready for you to come in.

Entering the Dental Clinic

We require a mask to be worn by ALL patients upon entering the office. This is for the safety of high risk patients. We recommend that you wear your own, if you do not have one, one will be provided to you.

We will also:

  1. Record your temperature at the door.
  2. Ask you to use the hand sanitizer when you enter the office.
  3. Escort you to your treatment room.

Our waiting area in reception is closed: we no longer offer refreshments, magazines, iPads, and toys, since these are difficult and time consuming to clean and disinfect.

If you are accompanying a patient, we ask that you wait outside during their appointment. If you are a parent or essential caregiver and would prefer to be within closer range, there are one or two chairs (depending on the day) available in the waiting area.

Please maintain social distancing of 2m throughout the office in respect for others.

The reception area has plexiglass ‘sneeze guards’ installed for the safety of staff.

During Your Dental Appointment

In the treatment room there is a bin into which personal belongings may be placed.

You will take an oral pre-rinse before treatment begins.

Our doctors and team will be wearing new PPE such as visors, gowns and masks, to provide barriers against the smallest of germs.

A mask will again be required when you leave the room and return to reception to checkout.

We are encouraging debit and credit payment over the handling of cash.

Additional Health & Safety Measures

We have enhanced operatory disinfection procedures of all surfaces between patients; and enhanced nightly disinfection procedures of equipment and office fixtures like computers, keyboards, telephones, tablets, chairs, doorknobs, and buttons.

Our HVAC filtration has been increased and localized filtration units with UV light sterilization have been place in operatories and the waiting room where aerosols are generated.

You will find hand sanitizer throughout the clinic, including in the washroom and the treatment rooms.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate these changes to service due to the pandemic. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
