Family Dentistry

We Take Care of Your Whole Family

Our family dentistry clinic in Surrey takes care of children and adults of all ages. Our dentist, Dr. Bajwa, practices general dentistry with a focus on preventative care.

Finding a trustworthy dental professional that you can easily talk to, who takes the time to listen, provides quality dental care – all in a setting that your family actually enjoys visiting – can be a difficult task.

Dr. Bajwa opened his family dentistry clinic in Surrey for these reasons and more. He and his staff are genuinely committed to providing the best possible dental care for the whole family, in a caring and comfortable environment. We’re able to cater to the smallest to the most senior, by being flexible in our approach and providing a large range of dental care services to meet your needs.

Our comprehensive list of services include general dental care, sedationcosmetic requests such as teeth whitening or teeth straightening; as well as kids’ concerns such as proper oral hygiene and development of teeth.

Our family dentistry practice understands that visiting the dentist can be somewhat stressful for some, and possibly has been far from a positive experience for others. We hope to change that. We’re here to help, not hinder, your whole-mouth oral health.

FAMILY DENTAL CONCERNS

When should my baby go to the dentist?

The general rule of thumb recommended by the Canadian Dental Association is to bring your baby for his/her first dental check-up 6 months after the eruption of the first tooth. The CDA notes, “The goal is to have your child visit the dentist before there is a problem with his or her teeth.” This way, we can pick up on any issues early and fix them. We can also ensure that the first teeth are being cleaned properly, and arm you with tips—sometimes it can be tricky cleaning baby and toddler teeth!

How often should I have a dental check-up?

The frequency depends on your oral health needs. The purpose of a dental check-up with your family dentist is to catch any issues early on. For most people, every six months is a good frequency. Our dental team may suggest that you visit more or less often depending on your level of dental care, how fast tartar builds up on your teeth, dental issues that we are monitoring, and more.

Do you recommend fissure or dental sealants for children?

Yes, we do recommend sealants as soon as the adult molars have appeared. Fissure sealants provide excellent protection against cavities. Learn more in this blog post on fissure sealants.
